I am new to GraphicConverter and am having trouble.
Apple is dropping support for .jp2s, so I'd like to convert all of mine to something else in the same place.
I don't want to convert my ordinary jpegs.
When I try to convert, it's working in the folder I'm in, but in the subfolders it's converting the ordinary .jpg files too.
I've experimented with a filter in the browser, and with Preferences > Browser > Extensions > Allow Extensions > JP2 .
I did read the manual and look at the videos.

Re: [newbie] convert only .jp2 pictures
Yes, you can solve this with GraphicConverter 11.
There are a few steps:
1. Make a backup of your complete image data folder including all subfolders. (Very Important
)
2. Launch GraphicConverter 11. Select File:Convert&Modify:Convert 3. Navigate in the middle and right area to the folder with the images.
4. Select under "Show" JPEG2000. That will filter and process only files with the JP2 extension. 5. Select as Destination Format i.e. JPEG and click onto Options to define the desired quality.
6. Now select all items in the middle area and click onto Start selected Function. Now all jp2 will be converted i.e. to JPEGs. The process keeps all existing IPTC, Exif and XMP data.
One note: We licensed the JPEG2000 library as source code. So, GraphicConverter will be able to open JPEG2000 files in the future, too.

Re: [newbie] convert only .jp2 pictures
PhotoMill from Overmacs is a nice supplement to GC. It can do bulk resize, reformat etc simply by drag and drop the desired files and folders into the program and ask it to convert to jpg.
If you add the folders containing both jpg and jp2 files you can select only jp2 from the menu on the left.
It is from app store, and a free trial is available from overmacs.com
It has none of the editing and other advanced features of GC and cannot replace it.
(I have no commercial interest in overmacs, just a happy user of both GC and Photomill - Thorsten: I hope it is OK to post this - otherwise please delete it)
