I have about 18,000 photos in my Photos library. When I use the GC script to make a copy of the Photos library content it tells me it exported about 33,000 items.
Using find duplicates in GC shows that there are thousands of duplicates. They apparently exist because the photos appear in multiple Albums in Photos.
The export created folders corresponding to my created Albums. So I imagine deleting those folders will remove these duplicates. Is that a reasonable procedure? I'm not exactly sure of how this is suppose to work.
My goal is to create a photo library external to Photos (but using the Photos library as a starting point).
MacOS 11.2.2 / GC 11.4.1

Re: GC and Apple Photos
Yes, the issue is caused if your images are in various albums.
I can only request the albums and its content from the Apple SDK.
Simple use onto the export the find duplicates function (with the exact setting).

Re: GC and Apple Photos
Understood.
A followup question. I think this also means that if a photo was edited in Photos (say cropped) then the edited photo will be exported but the original photo will not. Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct.
