[Added] Calculate area of a polygon

How hard would it be to enhance the Caliper Rule tool to calculate the area of a polygon? I am currently using the Calipers to calibrate size and measure lines, and can measure the area of a rectangle, but it would also be nice to be able to measure the area of a general polygon (i.e., irregularly shaped straight edged closed polygon).

Thorsten, how to I measure a second or third polygon? After I complete the first polygon, any additional clicks just cause beeps. I tried measuring a line segment then starting a second polygon, and still, just beeps.

I am able to save the file, close it, then reopen it and do a second polygon, but I would think that there should be an easier way.

Just press the escape key to remove the current polygon and start with a new one.
