Location in Folders

GC doesn't seem to remember what image I last worked on in a large folder - this is very helpful when i work in folder(s) with several hundred images.
I believe GC did remember the location in folders before Big Sur. Using GC First Aid doesn't change the problem.

do you mean in the browser or for the image editing?

In the browser. In the browser prefs under Thumbnails & Icons, Thumbnails "Store last selection and position for all folders" is checked.

I just tried and GraphicConverter keeps here the location even during program launches.

Is there any error message? Where are the files stored?
