[Solved] Speed up initial thumbnail display

Hi
Using a Mac with trial GC latest. When I click on a folder to view I get the spinning beachball for a few seconds before I see the thumbnails. Is there any way I can get rid of this?

how many and which kind of images are in the folder?
Are the images stored onto a local SSD or HD or a network drive?

Hi,

this are my settings. If you use a HD or network drive change 8 to 4.
On macOS Big Sur and GC 11.5.1 I have no troubble.
