1) Moderator: Please move this to the "Suggestions" subforum. I assume it is more appropriate there.

2) Found out this seem to be the metrics of the save dialog in macOS Big Sur in general. At least the defaults. Or at least for some apps.
  • E.g. in TextEdit it is also that narrow, see ▶️ Screen Recording (Dropbox, 25s, 360 Kb)
  • If you could influence the width or maxWidth, would appreciate it a bit wider for long filenames, or input of many or long Finder tags.

The save and open panels are provided by Apple.
I can't change the metric.
