1) Open PNG image
2) Menu > Picture > Resolution…
3) Change the resolution and click OK. The change is yet not saved to file.
Information Window > "Image" tab > Resolution: Shows the new value already
Information Window > "ExifTool" tab > Shows the old values (modification date, Resolution, etc).
That's ok and expected as ExifTool works on a file level.
4) Menu > File > Save
5) Information Window > "ExifTool" tab > Still shows the old values (modification date, Resolution, etc).
Expected: On each file save command the ExifTool should be re-run and the up-to-date values shown here in this tab.
Workaround: Continue like this:
6) Menu > File > Close.
7) Menu > Open Recent > Select your recent file
8) Information Window > "ExifTool" tab > Now shows the newest values (modification date, Resolution, etc).
[Added] File Save should refresh Window > Info > ExifInfo

Re: File Save should refresh Window > Info > ExifInfo
Th ExifTool and Exif panels are read only during opening a file. This requires bigger changes.
I added it to the ToDo list for the next year.

Thanks for giving both a background information and a confirmation that this issue it on your TODO list.

Re: File Save should refresh Window > Info > ExifInfo
I fixed that in build 6158.
Re: [Added] File Save should refresh Window > Info > ExifInfo
Tested in GraphicConverter 12.0.4 (6160):
Immediately after the save operation (⌘-S) the Exif tab in the Info window updates the resolution.
