Fine! This is one of the features to make the batch system more dynamic!
The other being: Batch allows to use RegEx positional matches as variable input for other actions which you replied to that it is currently not possible. But long term maybe you consider that too.
Because in combination they would be great: Read out the value of (Finder Tag | Finder Comment | IPTC field) or a sub-match of it and depending on this do something else and potentially insert the value elsewhere as input in the batch.
Nevertheless also on its own this feature here will open quite many possibilities! Thanks that you added it to the TODO list!
