[Added] Folder/File # columns: allow reordering and shrinking

Post by es »

Currently the folder/file are too wide (it seems that the min width is limited by the width of the header) for a column with small numbers. It would be great if you could resize these columns to be smaller even if the header doesn't fit and even better if you could change the header name to something shorter like Fd and Fl

Also I can't seem to reorder the columns, I'd prefer to have
#Folder #Files Tree rather than
Tree #Folder #Files
Because then the numbers will always be visible by default even if I make the tree column wide to fit long folder names — and then I could scoll horizontally to view the full folder name if needed

I added that for build 5690.

This is great, thanks, and the icons are much better than the names, I also use them whenever I'm able to edit UI!

One issue I've noticed is that the "..." abbreviation is behaving weirdly:
this is a more narrow column, but it displays the number BETTER (I can read the full number even if it doesn't fit)

↑ than this wider column (I can't read anything)

Is it possible to completely disable the "..." abbreviations, they are not worth it, and they prevent me from having the most narrow view that fits just the numbers.

Also, would you please allow eliminating any padding (or make it user-configurable so that people who like padding can have it)
I think this wastes way too much space

The padding is added by the Apple outline view. I can't change that.

Yeah, that's unfortunate. I guess the "..." is also the fault of Apple?
