[Fixed] convert bit depth on B&W tiff?

Post by silsurf »

I have several hundred B&W scans that were made for me I am trying to import in Adobe Lightroom. Lightroom doesnt support 1bit tiff file importation. I dont really cares what format the files are in, but they are currently in .tiff and I assume keeping .tiif for storage.

I know I can convert them with GC, but I have having trouble finding the setting to change the bit depth? Or maybe there is another setting I can change to overcome this limitation in Lightroom.

Thanks for suggestions and guidance

GraphicConverter does currently automatically reduce grayscale to one bit if only black&white is used.

I implement a new checkbox to disable this the next days.

Please download the latest BETA:
http://www.lemkesoft.org/beta.html

Open a TIFF.
Select File > Save As
Click onto options and uncheck the following:

Now save the file. Your bilevel TIFF will be saved as a grayscale TIFF.

You can do that in batch, too.
