[Solved] Can't see letters when typing them on photo

Sonoma 14.1.2. GC version 12.0.8. For many versions of GC this problem never seemed to happen. I entered text easily. I have generally used black text on a white background and I could see the text as I typed. Now I cannot see the text as I type because the typing box is black like the text. When I click to enter text at a second location, black text appears in a white box in the first location, as it always has. So I am getting the desired end result, but I cannot see my text as I type. I have tried many different settings combinations to no avail. Here are my last text settings. What is wrong? Pls advise. Thank you. john

That should fix the issue caused by the erase background checkbox.

Thank you. That seems to have fixed it. I was wondering if I was losing my mind there for a bit. j
