Unix File Names
Unix File Names
Quite often I see in people's computers 100s of images with no 3 letter extensions, upper ASCII characters etc that make the files unsuitable for the web. In batch convert, we have "rename" but I don't see a way to leave the name as is and just throw out the junk characters and add the extension (if missing). In other words make the file names unix frendly or web safe. Example: bedroom #15 change to bedroom_15.JPG There is a utility called "A better rename " that I use for that but I wish it was built into GC I help other people get set up for uploading pictures to their websites and the less programs we use the better.
