I have been a registered Graphic Converter user (Mac OS) for 25 years.
Starting a few weeks ago, copied and pasted rectangular selections all include a 3-pixel feathered frame within that selection -- which looks like a 1- or 2-pixel white frame when zoomed out.
This also happens when I crop an image by selecting part of it and choosing "crop selection".
Here is a sample, cropped from a photograph of blue sky:
I have used certain workflows for image-editing in Graphic Converter over 25 years (literally) and never seen this behavior until now.
I hope this is a simple settings issue and would love to know what it is, to disable.
Help! Thank you.

Re: copied rectangles include 3-pixel feathered frame: why? how to disable
curious, I suggest to trash the GraphicConverter settings with our First Aid Tool:
https://www.lemkesoft.info/files/graphi ... st_aid.dmg
Please make a backup of the old settings with the menu item GraphicConverter 12 > Backup

Thank you.
The issue is resolved.
Trashing the preferences file made the behavior disappear.
I should have tried it before asking! (I now see this is suggested as a first-order response to most problems.)
(My weakness is seeking to know why a behavior occurs, not just eliminating it with a universal cure. But I am content here.)
Thank you.
